Shaping Up without Going to the Gym

Most people simply cannot avoid thinking immediately of the gym when they decide to have a fitness program.  The truth, however, is that there are many kinds of exercises that can be done right at home.  Therefore, the gym is not always the instant solution when you consider it necessary to lose some pounds.  This is especially a fact when it comes to shaping or flattening your lower abs.  All that you would need for lower ab exercises that are really effective is actually just an appropriately sized exercise mat. 

However, you must realize that even gym exercises are not enough to lose weight and shape your abs.  You must also learn to discipline yourself in some respects so that your efforts at exercising become more fruitful in the process. One of these is in taking good diet program.  This means that you have to control your appetite, especially for food items rich in fat and sugar.  Doing so will deprive your body further of the useless calories that it has lost because of your exercising.  Even if you do lower ab exercises often, you may still gain a rounder mid-section if you do not control your eating habits.

You may do some cardio at home either through the use of a treadmill or a stationary bike or through playing and following the steps of an aerobics video.  Such routine will surely make you sweat a lot, which means that you are burning calories and, consequently, losing fat.  Once you do this, you also prepare your body for a several reps of lower ab exercises.  You may not need to cardio on a daily basis though.  Your body, after all, deserves rest also or else you may just get too tired that you would end up backsliding instead on your program.

However, it would be advantageous for you to do some stretching every morning and include some minutes of ab workouts as well.  This will not only make your blood circulation better before you go to work.  This will also make your ab toning more frequent, which would prompt sooner positive results.

    When I first realized I can still be in great shape without needing a gym, I suddenly felt real excited with my workouts for the first time. It didn’t seem like a burden any more, like it always felt forced because everyone else was hitting the gym. I was actually surprised by how many variations or exercises were available for the home gym.
